In Joel, GOD is furious at Israel for parting, parceling, dividing His land - ISRAEL.
The LITV translation of Daniel 5:25 reads these values
A MINA, A SHEKEL, and HALF MINAS.  The KJV and other translations read
UPHARSIN in 25 but PERES in 28.  One version uses PARSIN, as if parceling, dividing.

Upharsin  (and they divide), one of the words written by the mysterious hand on the wall
of Belshazzar's palace (Daniel 5:25). It is a pure Chaldean word. Peres is only a simple form
of the same word.  Daniel wrote while in captivity in Chaldea in Iraq.

I found the LITV easiest for me to understand.  A mina and a shekel are weight measures,
like an ounce.  Today a shekel is also like money, like pennies.  In America this hand writing
could be  A POUND, AN OUNCE, and 2 HALF POUNDS.  Figuratively it would be
like saying the east and west half of the USA will be divided, and no longer one entity.
I expect America to split in half along the Mississippi River.

Ancient books uncovered in a Jordanian cave may date to start of Christianity.  Jordan battles to regain priceless Christian relics.
One of the largest and best-preserved collections of ancient sealed books has been discovered in a cave in Jordan and are

Mar 28  Israel deploys Iron Dome missile defense system.  Iron Dome wont provide complete protection.
The system uses cameras and radar to track incoming rockets and is supposed to shoot them down within seconds of their launch.

Mar 28  Israel failed to realize until recently that the Palestinian bid to win United Nations
endorsement for statehood in September could have profound consequences.  UNGA was passed in 1950 because Russia was vetoing.
Israel just found out about little-known UNGA Resolution 377.  
If the Palestinians can gain General Assembly recognition for statehood under UNGA, it would be a real obstacle,
not just a public relations setback. This would seek to impose a Palestinian state on Israel by force of intl troops in Israel.

Libya * WAR could last months  
Mar 29  US Sixth Fleet attacked 3 Libyan ships, including a coast guard vessel, to stop them firing
at merchant ships.  One of the smaller craft was destroyed and the other abandoned.

NATO is likely to expand its air mission over Libya.  US using low-flying A-10 and AC-130 gunships.
NATO should enforce a no-fly zone and allow air strikes which has been going on for a week.
NATO expects to start enforcing the no-fly zone March 27 and  coordinate naval patrols in the Mediterranean.
A Canadian general, Charles Bouchard, is expected to take charge and report to American admiral Samuel Locklear,
commander of NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples. 

USA is sliding deeper into long-term military involvement in Libya,  a third war in a Muslim country, instead of the promised
transition to NATO (Europe) 'in days.'  Libyan opposition gains are only on paper, not the battlefield. 
Qaddafi executed tactical retreat, he is NOT defeated.
In the last 3 days, US air strikes have hit Qaddafi forces, rescuing the rebels (MB and al qaeda), our enemies.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking to reporters Monday, did not say when NATO's only Muslim member would assume control.
Turkey has contributed four frigates and a submarine to the enforcement of the UN arms embargo on Libya. 
Erdogan said Turkey would also participate in the enforcement of the no-fly zone but would not take part in ground attacks.

Mar 29  Japanese PM Naoto Kan has said his government is in a state of maximum alert
over the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.  Plutonium was detected in soil at the facility and highly radioactive water
has leaked from a reactor building. The government may extend the evacuation zone around the plant.
The priority remains injecting water to cool the fuel rods and the situation at the plant continues to be unpredictable.

Fire Aboard Stennis aircraft Carrier 
Mar 31  An F-18 jet fighter engine exploded and caught fire as it prepared to take off from the
flight deck of the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier off California, injuring 10 sailors.  The pilot was not hurt.
Four sailors were flown to Naval Medical Center San Diego, the 6 others were treated for burn injuries on board the carrier.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and the Hornet sustained a million dollars worth of damage.
The Stennis was conducting qualification flights for pilots and crews about 100 miles off the coast of San Diego.
